Duck Creek Center for the Arts youth production of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe 0pens at the Historic Elwood Opera House on Thursday

The Duck Creek Center for the Arts continues its 2023 season with an adaptation of CS Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The play performs this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, September 14-16, at the Historic Elwood Opera House. This youth production will not only have a cast of 8-18 year olds, but many of its crew positions have been filled ably by young people as well.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe follows the adventures of the four Pevensie children: Peter (played by Simon Wood), Susan (Lydia Doss), Edmund (Lukas Carmack), and Lucy (Violet Vehikite) as they experience the wonder and danger of a magical world called Narnia. The four children are quickly swept up into a classic battle between good and evil, represented by the mysterious Aslan (Melea Mendoza) and the chilling White Witch (Ellie Henagar).

Jessica Doss is the plays’ director, and Bill Smith is the executive director of the Duck Creek Center for the Arts. This production is made possible in part by the Community Foundation of Randolph County, and the Indiana Arts Commission, which receives support from the State of Indiana and the National Endowment for the Arts.
