William (Bill) Horton, 72, passed unexpectedly in his home in Elwood on Dec. 21, 2022, after a brief illness.
Bill was born March 22, 1950, to William and Marguerite Horton. Bill was a 1968 graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School and a retired Navy veteran.
Bill was employed by Delco Remy in Anderson, Red Gold in Orestes and he also moved houses.
Bill is survived by a son Kelly Phillips of Greenwood; three granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Lyssa Dowden of Alexandria; and a niece and nephew.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacinda Horton in 2010 and parents, William and Marguerite Horton of Alexandria Services honoring Bill’s life will take place at noon Friday, March 3, 2023, with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating. Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria after 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Interment with military honors will follow at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Owens Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses or to the Madison County Humane Society.
