Carolyn R. “Rosie” Eller, age 91, of Elwood, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Elwood Health and Living following a long full life.
Rosie was born in Curtisville on October 7, 1931, to the late Lawrence and Oleta (Tyner) Fecher. She was a graduate of Windfall High School and then married Leonard “Buck” Freeman Cox. Following his death, she married Robert Paul “Bob” Eller, who also preceded her in death.
Rosie was baptized at Curtisville Christian Church and was an active lady’s aide at the church. For many years Rosie was a bank teller for Anderson Banking Company. She enjoyed playing the piano and was known for having a very green thumb. Rosie had a deep love for dogs that led to her caring for many dogs over the years that she considered more like children.
Carolyn is survived by her sister, Freda “Monzell” Maynard; niece, Subrena (husband James) Gano; nephews, Bob Eller, Tony Eller, Shawn (Cindy) Jackson, Greg Maynard, and Brad (Lynda) Maynard; great-nephews, Jackson Gano, Joshua Gano, and Trent Maynard; great-niece, Lindsey Lett; and brother-inlaw, Walt (Lee Butler) Jackson.
In addition to both her parents and Rosie’s two husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Jackson; and brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Maynard.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from 11 am to 1 pm at Dunnichay Funeral Home 1113 South Anderson Street Elwood, IN 46036.
A funeral service to honor Rosie’s life will begin immediately following at the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Blaylock officiating.
A burial will follow the service in Curtisville Cemetery.
