Elnora F. Gill, age 96, a lifelong resident of Elwood, IN passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Elwood Health   Living.   She was born in Elwood, IN on September 3, 1926, to the late Leo and Lottie (Sanders) Gill.

Elnora graduated from Wendell L. Willkie High School with the class of 1944.  She was employed by Morgan Drive Away, Heinz Mfg. Company and she retired from Ex Cello Corp.  Elnora was a lifelong member of the Life Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She was an avid reader and also loved reading her Bible.  Elnora was dearly loved by her 28 nieces and nephews along with many greats.  She could always be found in her kitchen where family and friends enjoyed her cooking.  Elnora will be missed by all who knew her.

Elnora is survived by her loving sisters, Sharon (Murvel) Amsbury and Esther Hipes; brother, Harold Gill; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents Elnora was preceded in death by her sister, Dortha Kratz; brothers, Paul, Floyd, Donald and Robert Gill.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 S. Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana.

Funeral service celebrating Elnora’s life will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Dunnichay Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow in the Elwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Life Church or George Morrisett Food Pantry.
