America250 is a year long celebration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago on July 4, 1776. Now through July 4, 2026, there will be several events planned on the county, state and national levels. The Elwood Heritage Center and Museum will also be planning events and creating a book of memories. Currently our window display reflects the birthdays of our country’s United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps. The Navy celebrates 250 years in October. The Marine Corps celebrates 250 years in November.
