LAPEL — A scoreless drought to open the second half that lasted two-and-a-half minutes sent the Frankton Lady Eagles to a 50-44 defeat against No.5-ranked Lapel here on Friday night. The strange thing about the drought was that neither team scored in that period and Lapel maintained a three-point lead, but it was the Bulldogs who pulled away first with a 16-10 burst that put the Eagles in a 44-35 hole going into the final quarter.Even though Frankton was able to slice the advantage to 47-44, the Eagles never caught up.Fouls were a key ingredient all game for the visitors.
