Recently, Alexandria Police Officers were dispatched 600 W. Tyler Street at the Little league baseball diamonds to a fight. On arrival officers were met by two people who stated they were there to watch their children’s baseball games when William Rubendall went after one of them with a baseball bat before retrieving a hammer from his vehicle.

This time, however, the pool has received a massive face-lift, with a multi-million dollar renovation funded through tax increment financing. The project, spearheaded by the Elwood Redevelopment Commission, saw the construction of a splash pad, a wading area for kids, a water slide, basketball goals, a new facility with locker rooms and concessions, and a designated area for lap swimming.
