ARRESTS Lee Alexander Edwards, 28, of Alexandria, was arrested Tuesday, May 23 for domestic battery – adult against a family or member less than 14 years old with bodily injury. Jeffrey Alan Beyers, 59, of Elwood, was arrested Wednesday, May 24 for battery – committed with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangerment, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a crash with injury, disorderly conduct, and refusal to identify self while stopped for an infraction/ordinance.

ANDERSON – Like many urban populations, the City of Anderson has experienced an unprecedented increase in gun violence. Most recently, six young people, including two 17-year-olds and a 14-yearold, were shot at an even on May 14.

The Elwood Community School Corporation Retired Employees Picnic will be held Wednesday, June 14 at the shelter house at Callaway Park. Anyone who has been a part of the Elwood Community School Corporation in any capacity is welcome. Spouses and/or significant others are also invited. Bring a dish to share, and bring a drink.
