ARRESTS Lee Alexander Edwards, 28, of Alexandria, was arrested Tuesday, May 23 for domestic battery – adult against a family or member less than 14 years old with bodily injury. Jeffrey Alan Beyers, 59, of Elwood, was arrested Wednesday, May 24 for battery – committed with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangerment, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, leaving the scene of a crash with injury, disorderly conduct, and refusal to identify self while stopped for an infraction/ordinance.

Frankton man pleads guilty to rape

Dunnichays, Cannon recognized at IFDA Convention

The 142nd annual Indiana Funeral Directors Association (IFDA) Convention and President’s Awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, May 24. During the convention, three members of the Dunnichay family received special recognition for their dedication and commitment to service Indiana as funeral professionals.

The Elwood Community School Corporation Retired Employees Picnic will be held Wednesday, June 14 at the shelter house at Callaway Park. Anyone who has been a part of the Elwood Community School Corporation in any capacity is welcome. Spouses and/or significant others are also invited. Bring a dish to share, and bring a drink.
