MARION — The Elwood Lady Panther softball team came up empty on two trips to Grant County last week. Oak Hill handed Elwood a 14-4 setback and Eastbrook shut out the Panthers 10-0. Both games lasted just five innings and were Central Indiana Conference contests.
FRANKTON — The Frankton Lady Eagles went 1-1 in Central Indiana Conference play last week.

A five-run bottom of the fifth inning propelled Elwood to a 12-7 victory over visiting Tipton in Monday night’s varsity softball game.
Through the years, Frankton and Elwood have engaged in some thrilling softball battles and pitchers’ duels. Last Thursday’s Central Indiana Conference matchup – for the most part –was another.

FRANKTON — Frankton cashed in on a pair of Tipton errors in the sixth and then survived a Blue Devil seventh-inning rally to earn a 9-5 victory in last Thursday’s varsity baseball action.
The Frankton Lady Eagle softball team capped off a 3-0 week by thumping Mount Vernon 10-1 last Tuesday and routing Anderson 11-3 last Wednesday.
