ELWOOD — After a quiet first inning where Elwood came closer to scoring than Frankton, everything changed after that in a Central Indiana Conference baseball game here Tuesday. Over the next four innings, the Eagles scored 18 runs and the Panthers failed to score, ending the game after five innings.

Elwood caps busy week by splitting doubleheader with Wes-Del

ELWOOD — Elwood’s varsity baseball team capped off a busy week by splitting Saturday’s doubleheader with visiting Wes-Del. Elwood lost the first game 14-2 in five innings but came back and outscored the Warriors 15-13 in the second game.

Eagles power past Eastbrook, No. 4 Eastern Hancock

FRANKTON — They may be down, but the Frankton Eagles are rarely out of any varsity softball game, especially if their opponents are willing to pitch to senior Makena Alexander. After recording four extra-base hits, including three-run home run, and driving in seven runs in Frankton’s 16-3 Central Indiana Conference win at Elwood, last Wednesday, the senior shortstop slugged a solo home run in last Thursday’s 11-3 CIC win over Eastbrook here.

Elwood defeats Tipton 6-1

ELWOOD — Senior Olivia Shannon handcuffed Tipton’s hitters for seven innings, while utilizing her speed on the base paths to score three runs and lead Elwood to a 6-1 victory over the Lady Blue Devils here on Friday night.

Frankton dominates in winning tournament

BERNE, Ind. — Coach Brad Douglas’ Frankton varsity baseball team is starting to get hot, and with the sectional just two weeks away, the Eagles could not pick a better time.

Frankton places 4th, Elwood 6th at Madison County golf meet

ELWOOD — Alexandria’s Owen Harpe made the All-Madison County Team and helped the Tigers finish third in the county tournament at the Elwood Golf Links here on Saturday. Frankton placed fourth. Pendleton Heights was the champion with a score of 308, putting four of its five golfers in the 70s for the day. Lapel was next with 333. The Tigers were just two strokes out of second with a 335. The Eagles had a 350.

How much grace does it take to love our enemies? That’s a good question.
