Bonita Dawn “Bonnie” Dow, age 78, of Frankton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. She was born in Marion, Indiana on April 16, 1945, the daughter of the late Clarence Shipley and Delight (Harmon) Hewitt.

1933-2023 Thomas Marion Coppess, age 90, of Elwood, IN went to be with the Lord and Savior on Friday, April 28, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at his residence; Tom’s passing was the cause of several illnesses, but mostly from just plain old age! He loved life and worked hard to keep living it! Tom was born in Anderson, IN on March 8, 1933, to the late Earl and Bess (Furnish) Coppess. On October 17, 1959, he married Mary Margaret (Morgan) Coppess at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville and they shared 63 years of marriage together.

1948-2023 Marcia L. Spradlin, age 75, of Anderson and formerly of Frankton, IN, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.

Allen Buster, age 68, of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Community Hospital in Anderson following recent health challenges. He was born in Albany, Kentucky on January 5, 1955, to the late Marion Buster and Irene (Brown) Buster.

1971-2023 ALEXANDRIA, IN Dean W. Morehead, 51, entered peace and rest surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 29, 2023, following a 7month journey through cancer.

BEVERLY ELIZABETH WOODSIDES

Beverly Elizabeth Woodsides, age 98, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday morning, April 28, 2023. Elizabeth lived a long and full life devoted to her family, friends, and community. Her family: children, sister and grandchildren feel blessed that they were able to share in her many years of a well-lived life. Elizabeth was born on the family farm in rural Elwood September 20, 1924. She lived her entire life on the family land and primarily in the home built by her father. She raised her own family there. Elizabeth was the daughter of Howard J. and Margaret L. (Holaday) Smith. She married Robert L. Woodsides on April 21, 1946, and they shared 49 years of marriage before his passing in 1995. They were both devoted and active members of the Aroma Community Church (formerly, Aroma United Methodist Church) and shared their lives working hard and giving to the community. The family would like to thank our wonderful caregivers who have loved, honored, and supported our mother and our family with complete ease and grace, especially over the course of the past year. A small, private funeral service will be held at Aroma Community Church. Memorial contributions are suggested to Aroma Community Church through Copher-Fesler-May. ELWOOD CALL-LEADER OFFICE The offices for the Elwood Call-Leader, Tipton County Tribune, and the Alexandria Times-Tribune have moved to 108 South Anderson Street in Elwood, inside the Elwood Chamber of Commerce building. Hours of operation will remain the same, from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.

Elwood woman charged in Facebook rental scam

An Elwood woman was arrested Thursday on eight felony charges stemming from an alleged Facebook rental scam. Megan Stoner, 25, was booked into the Hamilton County Jail Thursday morning.
