On Monday at approximately 10:03 a.m., Madison County Sheriff’s Department dispatch received a call from a person allegedly posing as an employee from Alexandria-Monroe Jr/Sr High School. According to a press release from the Indiana State Police issued Monday evening, the individual provided dispatch with information implying there was an active threat taking place within the schools.
The annual Citywide Easter Egg Hunt held Sunday at Callaway Park was a big success, despite the one week delay following the death of the event’s organizer, Dot Harting. Harting’s daughters were joined by several volunteers to make sure the day went off without a hitch for Elwood’s youth.
