Perhaps the most beautiful location in Alexandria, Harrison Square is more of a plaza than a traditional park. Paved with ornamental star and rosette bricks, there is no playground equipment, but there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy cool breezes or a pleasant picnic lunch. Harrison Square is the host site for Alexandria's Santa's Cottage following the annual Christmas parade.

The market is held in the Kiwanis Building in Beulah Park each Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. The market includes over 20 vendors offering fresh produce, local honey, handmade soaps, and a variety of other homegrown or homemade items.

Elks Lodge donates to Elwood Citywide Easter Egg Hunt

Each year, the Elwood Citywide Easter Egg Hunt boasts thousands of dollars worth of prizes for the winners in each age group, and bicycles are among the biggest prizes available to the Egg Hunt winners. Often times, up to twenty bicycles are given away during the event. These prizes are made possible thanks to generous donations, like the one made last weekend from the Elwood Elks Lodge.
