Vacant property demolished

This week, the Elwood Street Department completed the demolition of this vacant home, located on North B Street. Mayor Todd Jones said the property had been vacant for several years, and was removed as part of the 2023 demolition season.

Elwood patrol cars outfitted with bullet-proof windshields

The Elwood Police Department is getting the final police cars their fleet fitted with bullet-proof windshields. This comes after the death of Officer Noah Shahnavaz, who was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop in the overnight hours of July 31, 2022.

Elwood Central Wesleyan Church to host Improv show

The Elwood Central Wesleyan Church will host another set of Improv comedy shows following the success of the first two shows in late January. The shows are entitled 'March Madness Improv Shows' and will be held Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 at 7 p.m.
