High-speed broadband internet will soon come to rural addresses near Summitville, Orestes, and Lapel. Comcast and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) have finalized an agreement that will bring gigabit broadband service to previously un-serviced parts of the state.

A RRESTS Mitchell Edward Preston Jr., 52, of Frankton, was arrested Monday, February 20 for violation of adult day reporting. Lyndsey Leigh Bell, 37, of Elwood, was arrested Tuesday, February 21 for failure to appear and criminal trespass.
Lee Scholl, age 85 of Elwood, died Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville. Funeral arrangements are pending at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood.
Additional details have emerged in the arrest of an Alexandria woman charged with dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death. Amber Short, 39, was arrested Monday by the Alexandria Police Department in connection with the November 2022 death of Cody Spaulding.
