Social Security Matters

Dear Rusty: I am a 62year old Canadian expat who has lived in the U.S. for the last 30-years.

Survey says!!

At first glance, it seemed like a pretty good deal. Enjoy a complimentary $25.00 gift card from one of the local supermarkets. All it required was answering a few questions online. I figured it was a marketing scam. I wasn’t born yesterday. In fact, as you’ll see, I was born 100 years ago.

Valentine

It is devoutly to be hoped that you express your love for your significant other every day, not by words alone, but by working at demonstrating that she or he is the most important thing in your life by doing those things that make her or him happy. Yet the injection of a bit of romance into the relationship is essential. That should be done daily, too, if only by some simple gesture such as well, whatever simple gesture conveys joy. But Valentine's Day is set aside specifically to honor the loved one with romance. Commercialized? Yes, of course. The florists, the chocolatiers, the jewelers, have all jumped on the bandwagon to offer you means of (expensive) expression of your love for your Other. This all begins with a sort of strange feeling and awkward response to it which typically arises in the early adolescent years. Witness.

dear abby

DEAR ABBY: I am an 80year-old senior man who has met, texted daily and called an 80-year-old woman for the last six weeks. We both look and think young for our ages as well. We plan to have our first date on a Valentine's Day theme. It's awkward not knowing what to do when we have our first date. She says 'friends first,' and I agree, but we are highly compatible based on our communications.

The Grubhub Kid

Remember that old TV show, Kids Say The Darndest Things? They are also likely to do the darndest things, says the Association of Mature American Citizens [AMAC]. Take the Grubhub Kid in Chesterfield Township, MI, better known as six-year-old Mason Stonehouse.

sibly a thunderstorm before 1 p.m. then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 56. Breezy. A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy and blustery, with a low around 23.

Living on Purpose

Have you ever wondered what is the purpose of television, games, movies, and social media? Many will say it was created to entertain and inform us, but what we may not have noticed, is that when we are constantly focused on these things, we are usually not listening to what God is saying. To understand what He wants us to do, we must give Him our undivided attention.
