The City of Tipton has announced plans to install new playground equipment at Tipton City Park, with construction scheduled to begin this week. The equipment represents the largest playground investment the city has made in the past 30 years.

Sunday at approximately 10 p.m., Alexandria officers were on a traffic stop in the area of State Road 9 just north of State Road 128. While conducting the stop, one of the officer’s fully marked patrol vehicle was struck while on the side of the road.

Elwood police arrested Dennis Carroll Harmon Junior, 50, of Elwood, on Tuesday, Feb. 18 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated - prior conviction, resisting law enforcement - two or more prior unrelated convictions, and public intoxication.
