Elwood grows in numbers, experience

The good news for the Elwood Lady Panthers basketball team is that the numbers are up, but while it’s not necessarily bad news, coach Courtney Lickliter’s squad is still primarily comprised of freshmen and sophomores.“We are still young, but we have some new faces that are athletic and could really help us,” Lickliter said.The Panthers graduated two players off last year’s 3-20 team, Darica Dickey and Raeghan Wisehart.

100 West to be closed for repaving

The Madison County Engineering Department recently reached out to Alexandria Clerk-Treasurer, Darcy Van Erman to advise the city a portion of County Road 100 W (Madison Avenue) will be closed for repaving beginning the week of November 11.This creates additional stress on traffic traveling in and out, as well as around Alexandria with the ongoing Washington Street Project closing the main thoroughfare through the city.
