FRANKTON — The 2024 home opener for the Frankton High School football team did not go as the Eagles had hoped.Arch rival Lapel spoiled Frankton’s holiday weekend by defeating the Eagles 40-13 in a game that started on Friday and ended on Saturday, thanks to the storms that passed through Indiana on Friday night.

Elwood Animal Shelter in need of volunteers

Michelle Hiatt, manager of the Elwood Animal Shelter, said the shelter currently houses around 15 dogs and between 60 and 70 cats, including those in foster care.
