A 55-year-old Elwood man is facing felony charges of burglary, intimidation with a deadly weapon, domestic battery with a deadly weapon, and domestic battery with moderate injury.According to an affidavit of probable cause signed by Captain Marcus Shoppell of the Elwood Police Department, Shoppell received a call from Officer Hosier on Sunday, May 19, stating that a man was hitting a door with a hatchet in the area of South 25th and South N Streets.According to the affidavit, Shoppell knew that Officer Alex Gray had taken a report of domestic battery in the area during his shift, and that he was unable to locate the male and had requested a warrant.
