EJSHS Drama Club’s spring performance a success
Members of the Elwood Junior Senior High School Drama Club recently hosted their spring performance, “Up the Down Staircase” at Merritt Auditorium.

Duck Creek Players to present “Radium Girls”
The Duck Creek Players will be back on stage this week at the Historic Elwood Opera House with their production of “Radium Girls”.The Radium Girls were female factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting radium dials – watch dials and hands with self-luminous paint.After being told that the paint was harmless, the women in each facility ingested deadly amounts of radium after being instructed to “point” their brushes on their lips in order to give them a fine tip; some also painted their fingernails, faces, and teeth with the glowing substance.

Congregation comes together to save small community church
