Confirmed tornado results in significant damage to Frankton-Lapel Administration Building

The Frankton-Lapel Administration Building, located at 7916 West 300 North, sustained significant damage Monday night as severe weather rolled through Madison County.The Madison County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency confirmed that the building sustained heavy damage to at least two walls and its roof.

Owen Hinchman awarded Noah Shahnavaz Legacy Scholarship

Owen Hinchman, a 2024 Elwood Junior-Senior High School graduate and class president, was awarded the Noah Shahnavaz Legacy Scholarship at the second annual fundraising event held at the Elwood Elks Lodge.The scholarship, which assists a Madison County student seeking a career in law enforcement, is in the amount of $3,939.39 in honor of Noah Shahnavaz’s badge number.July 31 will mark two years since Shahnavaz, a 24-year-old Elwood officer, was killed in the line of duty.
