DMT Capital breathing new life into historical buildings

The former Call Leader offices at 317 South Anderson Street were purchased by DMT Capital, LLC in 2023. Since then, the company, operated by David Turk and Tyler and Miles Hiatt, has been hard at work renovating the space, re-purposing the historic downtown building into 13 efficiency apartments, climate-controlled storage units, and are planning to open a breakfast cafe.

Frankton man arrested for child solicitation following joint law enforcement efforts

On Sunday, July 20, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion Police Department announced the arrest of five men for child solicitation. According to a press release posted to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, four men traveled from outside counties with the intent to engage in sexual activity with a person they believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

Elwood Animal Shelter to participate in Jordan’s Way Bowl 2025

Last summer, the Elwood Animal Shelter teamed up with Kris Rotonoda, founder of Jordan’s Way, a national organization that raises funding for animal shelters and rescues through livestreaming social media events. On a random Wednesday afternoon, Jordan’s Way helped the Elwood Animal Shelter raise more than $7,000. Now, the Elwood Animal Shelter and Jordan’s Way are teaming up again, as part of Jordan’s Way Bowl 2025 in Wichita Falls, Texas.
