The annual Memorial Day Parade and Presentation of Our Fallen Veterans Service were held Monday, May 29. The parade, which featured floats from the VFW, Elwood Fire Department, Elwood Police Department, Pipe Creek Fire Department, and many more, kicked off the holiday in Elwood as hundreds lined the streets to enjoy the floats.
The death penalty trial for Carl Roy Webb Boards II, the man accused of murdering Elwood Officer Noah Shahnavaz, has been set for January 2025. The trial is expected to last two weeks.
The Elwood Community School Corporation Retired Employees Picnic will be held Wednesday, June 14 at the shelter house at Callaway Park. SUMMITVILLE – Grant Levi Brown, 20, of Fairmount, was arrested Thursday, May 26 on charges of child molest, possession of child pornography, and child exploitation. According to a press release from the Indiana State Police, the arrest stemmed from a 10-month investigation that began in July of 2022.
