PARKER CITY — Emma Sperry already appears to be in mid-season form and the first week of the varsity girls basketball season just concluded.The Frankton senior had a red-hot shooting hand here Saturday night, scoring a game- and career-high 31 points to lead the Eagles to a 52-32 victory over Monroe Central.Sperry missed just three field goals the entire night.
FRANKTON — The senior backcourt duo of Emma Sperry and Amaya Collins led the charge as Frankton overwhelmed Tri-Central 63-15 in last Thursday’s girls varsity basketball season opener at the Eagles Nest.Collins scored a game-high 21 points and Sperry added 17 for Frankton.
ELWOOD — A 16-0 advantage at the free-throw line propelled Eastern to a 34-32 victory over Elwood in last Wednesday’s varsity girls basketball season opener for both teams.The Panthers did not attempt a free throw, while the Comets knocked down 16 of 22 attempts.
The Central Indiana Conference released the all-conference football team on Monday.

The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association (IHSVCA) released the names of the 870 seniors earning academic all-state for this season on Monday.
Frankton’s senior trio of Holli Klettheimer, Emma Sperry and Claire Duncan were voted to the All-Central Indiana Conference volleyball first team, while Elwood’s Breelyn Norris and Savannah Garcia earned honorable mention honors.The all-conference list was released on Tuesday.It was the fourth straight year Klettheimer made the first team.
