LADY EAGLES POST 2-2 RECORD LAST WEEK
Frankton’s high school girls tennis team bounced back from Tuesday’s 4-1 loss to Jay County with a 4-1 win at Hamilton Heights on Wednesday. The Huskies are now 2-4 on the season.

HARTFORD CITY --- Elwood’s high school girls tennis team came home with a Central Indiana Conference victory on Thursday afternoon as the Panthers defeated host Blackford 3-2. “This was a big conference win,” Elwood coach John Kelly said.
HARTFORD CITY --- Sophomore Paige Parker pitched a two-hitter as Frankton’s varsity softball team shut out Blackford 4-0 in Thursday’s Central Indiana Conference opener here. Parker gave up a one-out single in the third inning and a leadoff single in the fourth.
FAIRMOUNT --- Sydney Duncan’s record-breaking performance in the shot put got the Madison County girls track and field meet off to a strong start for Frankton. A second-place finish by the Eagles’ 4-by-400 relay team secured the county championship for Frankton.
FAIRMOUNT --- Jack Melvin and Dillon Pratt finished first and second in the 400-meter dash to lead Frankton to a fourthplace team finish at the recent Madison County boys track and field meet hosted by Madison-Grant.
ELWOOD –- On Thursday, Elwood had five hits and Madison-Grant blasted five homers. No contest.
Frankton started out the week with an 11-1, five-inning defeat to arch-rival Lapel last Tuesday. The Eagles then lost one-run heart-breakers at Blackford on Thursday and to Blue River on Saturday.
The Elwood varsity baseball teams suffered a pair of losses last week. Wabash defeated the Panthers 15-1 in five innings on Tuesday. Elwood then lost its Central Indiana Conference game against Madison-Grant 15-3 in six innings on Thursday.
