Frankton softball off to 2-0 start

RGarmon@cherryroad.com WESTFIELD –– The rain may have had an effect on Wednesday’s varsity softball contest between Frankton and Hamilton Heights but thanks to the turf fields available at Grand Park, the game as able to be played. The visiting Eagles plated two runs in the top of the first inning and never trailed on their way to a 42 victory over the host Huskies.

Kokomo loses to No. 1 Ben Davis

Kokomo’s Flory Bidunga (40) goes up for two of his 19 points in Saturday night’s Class 4A state championship game against No. 1-ranked Ben Davis. Bidunga finished 9 of 12 from the field but was just 1 of 7 at the free-throw line. He also pulled down 11 rebounds and blocked five shots. Several college coaches, including Indiana’s Mike Woodson and Michigan State’s Tom Izzo, were on hand to watch Bidunga, a 6-foot-10 junior. The Giants, however, won the game 53-41 to finish the season a perfect 33-0.
