KOKOMO --- Similar to the regular-season meeting between Tipton and Taylor on the same Center Court, the Blue Devils put together a strong second half to take down the Titans. But last Saturday's 58-40 victory over Taylor gave Tipton a Class 2A Sectional 39 repeat.
NEW CASTLE –– Sometimes the opponent just hits shots. That's what happened in the Class 3A New Castle Sectional semifinal here Friday and Frankton's season ended at the hands of New Castle 54-43.
KOKOMO --- Elwood's varsity boys basketball season came to an end in the semifinals of the Class 2A Taylor Sectional last Friday night. And the Panthers went down battling to the end.

ELWOOD –– It wasn't the ending to the regular season that the Elwood Panthers were wanting as they honored four players on Senior Night Friday. But a four-point first quarter without a single field goal made the home team play uphill much of the evening in a 46-42 loss to Wes-Del.
After a frustrating pair of losses and the sectional looming this week, the Tipton High School boys basketball team did not need just a victory but needed a game where it played well on both ends of the floor.
SHARPSVILLE –– Turnovers, especially in the second half, doomed Tri-Central in Friday night’s regular-season finale. Northfield spoiled the Trojans’ senior night overcoming 36-29 halftime deficit to outscore TC 36-13 in the second half and go home with a 65-49 victory.
Elwood Call-Leader FRANKTON –– Frankton has been a hot basketball team, winning five of its last six games and three in a row. Senior night was no exception as those three upperclassmen and the rest of the team made sure the night was memorable with a 64-44 victory over Knightstown here Tuesday night.
Elwood got off to a strong start in Tuesday’s varsity boys basketball game against Clinton Central. But it was the Bulldogs who put together a strong finish to leave John Ward Gymnasium with a 58-52 victory over the Panthers.
