FRANKTON — Frankton employed a stingy defense to stifle Tri-Central in last Saturday night’s 52-38 victory at the Eagles Nest.
KNIGHTSTOWN — Tri-Central and Elwood varsity boys basketball fans were treated to an afternoon matinee at historic Hoosier Gym here last Saturday. The Trojans and Panthers did not disappoint their fans as the two teams put on an offensive show.
SHERIDAN — The scoreboard at the end of last Friday’s Class 2A Sheridan Sectional semifinal contest did not have Elwood as the victor. But the Lady Panthers ended the 2024-25 season with a winning record, their first since the 2013-14 season.
SHERIDAN — Despite having a cold-shooting night, Frankton’s Lady Eagles were able to hang with the host Blackhawks in last Tuesday’s lass 2A Sectional first-round game for the first half. But the second half was a different story.
Frankton has struggled to knock down shots from beyond the arc for most of the season. But the Eagles had no such problem last Friday night as they were 11 for 20 from beyond the arc to shoot past short-handed Elwood 53-24 at John Ward Gymnasium.
The Frankton and Elwood varsity girls basketball teams met in the semifinals of the Madison County tournament the first week of January. And like that first meeting, the Lady Eagles came away with a big win.
FRANKTON — Cam Gallegos’ outside shooting kept Elwood within striking distance of the host Eagles in last Tuesday’s opening round of the Class 2A Frankton Sectional.
FRANKTON — A year ago, Alexandria prevented Frankton from celebrating an outright Central Indiana Conference championship with a 67-57 victory at the Jungle.
Frankton’s varsity boys basketball team closed out a perfect February with a 46-39 senior night victory over Shenandoah last Tuesday and a 64-39 rout at Blue River Valley last Friday.
