A challenging regular season came to a close for the Elwood Panthers last weekend. Morristown spoiled Elwood’s senior night by defeating the Panthers 65-45 last Friday night and then suffered a 72-47 loss at Knox on Saturday.
Tipton freshman Jacoby DeFoe was the only area boys swimmer to advance to the championship finals of the sectional. DeFoe placed seventh in the 50-yard freestyle (22.48 seconds) at the Carmel Sectional on Saturday, Feb. 15. DeFoe also qualified for the consolation finals in the 100 butterfly, placing 12th (57.86).

GAS CITY — Brady Carmack hit a pull-up jumper with two seconds remaining in overtime to give Frankton a 49-47 Central Indiana Conference victory over Mississinewa here last Friday night.
The Alexandria-Monroe High School Lady Tigers’ remarkable season came to a close last Saturday as they fell to Rensselaer Central, 57-49, in the Class 2A Caston Regional.
