EJSHS announces 2024 Homecoming Court ahead of next week’s game

Elwood Jr/Sr High School’s 2024 Homecoming game is next Friday, Sept. 20 at Panther Stadium. At half time, the Homecoming King & Queen will be crowned. Full biographies for Homecoming Court candidates will be published in Wednesday’s Call Leader.

Homecoming week unofficially kicks of tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 14 with a 5K run/walk to benefit the Elwood Athletics Department and the school’s libraries. The event begins at 7 p.m. for runners and 7:15 p.m. for walkers.

The annual Homecoming Parade is Friday, Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m., with line-up beginning at the intersection of North B and Anderson Streets at 3:45 p.m. The parade route will continue down Anderson Street towards EJSHS.

The traditional powderpuff games and tug-of-wars will be Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2:30 p.m. Admittance is $3 at the gate, and proceeds from tickets and concessions will benefit the EJSHS student council.
