Jill E. (Warren) Landry

ALEXANDRIA – Jill E. (Warren) Landry, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Community Hospital in Anderson.

Jill was born on April 12, 1973, in Anderson, to Phillip and Patsy (Mack) Warren. She lived most of her life in Summitville and Alexandria area. She was a graduate of Madison-Grant High School Class of 1992 and Harrison College Class of 1993 where she studied travel.

She worked as a travel consultant for GM in Kokomo when Jill met her future husband, Darrin Phillips, and they were married on Sept. 1, 2001. They resided in Michigan most of their married life. Michigan was one of Jill’s favorite places to live being so close to the lake.

Following Darrin’s passing, she returned to her Indiana home She was a loving, devoted wife and home maker. Jill remarried on June 10, 2017, to Roland Landry, and they lived in Alexandria.

Jill had worked in the Alexandria-Monroe High School cafeteria, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She loved animals including cats, horses and her fur babies Gibson, Sofie, Twitch and especially Lexi, her Mini Aussie.

She was a creative person who loved music, collecting purses and anything nautical related.

Jill was a fan of Detroit Red Wings Hockey with her favorite player being Eric Lindstrom, Boston Red Sox and enjoyed watching race events.

More recently, she was finally able to meet Mario Andretti and proudly displays a picture of this moment.

She loved to travel, especially if there was sun, palm trees and a beach.

Jill will be fondly remembered for her sweetness, her infectious laugh and her strong devotion to family and friends. She touched the hearts of several and will be missed by many.

Survivors include her husband, Roland Landry (married June 10, 2017); stepchildren, Derek Landry of Alexandria and Makayla Landry of Elwood; two brothers, Mitch (Shari) Warren of West Lafayette and Chad (Traci) Warren of Destin, Fla.; nieces and nephews; an several close friends and extended family.

Jill was preceded in death by her father on Jan. 7, 2014 and her mother on Feb. 4, 2014; her husband, Darren Phillips; and sister-in-law, Lisa Warren.

A time of gathering and sharing will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the Owens Funeral Home, 412 N. Harrison St., in Alexandria, from 2 to 4 p.m. Cremation will follow the visitation time.

Private inurnment will take place at Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville.
