ALEXANDRIA, IN –
Geraldine L. “Jeri” (Treesh) Yeagy, 88, entered in to peace and rest from her residence on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, following an extended illness.
She was born on December 18, 1934, in Kendallville to Ronald and Mildred (Spice) Treesh Sr. and was a graduate of Alexandria High School-Class of 1952. On August 10, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Bobby Yeagy. She had worked for the Herman Brown Insurance Agency, Cunningham Elementary School as a Title I teacher, and the Nazarene Nursery School
She was a member of the Alexandria First Christian Church but attended the Alexandria Christian Congregation Church. She was a member of the former Alexandria Senior Guild. Jeri enjoyed reading, bowling, working jigsaw puzzles and playing cards. She was the #1 fan of her children and her grandchildren and their athletic events.
Survivors: 2 DAUGHTERS-Rita Sue Johnson and Ruth (Roger) Thomas both of Alexandria Son-Roger (Kelly) Yeagy-Alexandria 11 Grandchildren 22 Great-Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren Step-Mother-Anne Treesh-Indianapolis Brothers-Ronald (Nancy) Treesh Jr.-Anderson, John (Luana) Treesh in Alabama Sister-Roseanne (Ted) Hinkle-Indianapolis Several nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 43 years-Bobby Yeagy in 1995, 2 sons- Ronnie Yeagy in 1982 and Rex Yeagy in 2019, a grandson-Jeremy Johnson in 1997, a brother-Gary Treesh Services honoring Jeri’s life, legacy and faith will take place at 2 pm on Monday, April 10, 2023, in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Pastor Kevin Young officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria. The Yeagy family will receive friends after 12 Noon on Monday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital with envelopes available at the funeral home.
