February 26, 1942 -June 15, 2023 Doris A. Stover, 81, passed away June 15, 2023, at Esther’s House (Center for Hospice Care) after an extended illness.

She was born February 26, 1942, in Elwood, Indiana to the late Ralph Sr. and Gladys (Minniear) Jackson.

Doris lived her early years in Elwood, Anderson and Kokomo before relocating to Elkhart Indiana, where she retired from KIK. She enjoyed playing cards, games and cooking for anyone and everyone. Doris was a devoted mom and grandma. She knew no strangers.

Left to cherish her memory are her children: Kim (Don) Mansell of Elkhart and Eric (Pam) Stover of Goshen; Siblings: Robert A Jackson of Elwood, Alva (Kathy) Jackson of Kokomo and Everett Jackson (Danny Wheeler); Grandchildren: Jacob Stover, Brandon Slovinski and Casey Stover; Great- Grandchildren: Kuba Stover and Zosia Stover; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Josephine, Jack, Jane, June, Wendell, JoAnn, Jim, Jenny, Ralph Jr, Larry, Gary, Thelma, Melvin, Claude; Grandchild: Krystal Slovinski. Arrangements are entrusted to Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, 700 East Jackson Blvd., Elkhart, Indiana 46516. Visitation will be Thursday 4- 7 pm and Friday 12-1pm. Funeral will start at 1 pm Friday followed by procession to Rice Cemetery, then committal service.
