ROSELLA MARLING

Rosella “Kay” Marling, age 86 of Muncie and formerly of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at I.U. Health-Ball Hospital in Muncie following a long, well-lived life.  She was born August 6, 1936 in Dundee (rural Alexandria), the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Baker) Martin.  Kay attended Somerset High School.  She worked for Marsh Supermarkets Corporate office in the bookkeeping department for over 25 years and retired in 2003.

Kay was active throughout her life.  She enjoyed oil painting, playing softball, bowling on leagues, and watching her favorite show, Walker Texas Ranger.  Kay loved dancing and listening to 1950’s era music.  She especially loved traveling with her family on many memorable trips to Florida and various lakes for skiing and boating.  More than anything, Kay was devoted to her family in every possible way.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kay’s family includes 4 daugthers, Vicki (Terry) Lee of Dunedin, Florida, Lorri (Jim) Garner of Syracuse, Sherri Marling of Sebring, Florida, and Rusti Koons of Muncie; 2 siblings, Max Martin of Wabash and Fran (Mike) Williams of Elwood; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Marsha Martin of Gas City and Janice Martin of Somerset; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Kay was preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings, Howard Martin, Paul Martin, Ray Martin, and Jim Martin; and 2 sisters-in-law, Pat Martin and Clara Lou Martin.

A funeral service celebrating Kay’s life will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Roger Gardner, officiating.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm prior to the funeral at Copher-Fesler-May.  She will be cremated and placed between her parents and Howard at the Elwood City Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.  Online condolences and memories may be shared at copherfeslermay.com.
