Virginia Louise (Miller) Marsh, age 87, of Anderson, IN passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023, at Miller’s Merry Manor Plymouth, IN following an extended illness.
She was born in Elwood, IN on August 24, 1935, to the late William and Lillian “Marguerite” (Webb) Miller. All her life Virginia resided in the Frankton/Anderson area and was a 1953 graduate of Frankton High School.
On October 25, 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Gene Trice Marsh and they shared 60 years of marriage together before he passed away on January 2, 2014. Virginia enjoyed raising her family and helping on the family farm.
She was an active member of the Frankton United Methodist Church for 50 years and was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Anderson, IN, since 1997. She enjoyed cooking and loved to entertain. She taught and helped her daughter and several granddaughters with their food projects in 4-H. She visited 46 states and ten countries. She also enjoyed genealogy, loved researching her family and sharing this love with a granddaughter whom they traveled to many places and cemeteries in the United States to collect information.
Virginia is survived by four sons, Gene ” Mark” (Jackie) Marsh of Bremen, IN, Randall Marsh of Anderson, IN, Robin (Tina Stevens) Marsh of Frankton, IN and Steven (Robyn) Marsh of Frankton, IN; daughter, Nancye (Dale) Herrold of Kewanna, IN; sister, Carolyn Miller of Elwood, IN.
16 Grandchildren: Cara (Roger) Oakley, Aaron (Nicole) Marsh, Andrea (Chad) Urbin, Nicholas Marsh, Christina Marsh, Jacob Marsh, Nathan (Jackie) Marsh, Melissa (James) Brooks, Trent (Rachel) Marsh, Tyler Marsh, Rachel (David) Peiffer, Jacob Woodard, Jennifer Herrold, Kaylyn (Mark) MacKillop, and Morgan (Brett) Davis.
28 Great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Elizabeth, Gabriella, Violet, Isla Rose, Adriana Lily, Camellia, Nadia, Gatlin, Scarlett, Jude, Trice, Riggin, Olivia, Aniyah, Israel, Gianna, Harper, Savannah, Everett, Lincoln, Wyatt, Charlotte, Gabriel, Hannah, Gavin, Alexis, Mary, and Daniel.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Trice Marsh, and parents, William and Marguerite Miller.
Visitation will be, Monday, August 7, 2023, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler Street, Frankton, IN.
The funeral ceremony will be immediately following visitation Monday, August 7, 2023, at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, with Pastor Douglas Stein officiating.
A burial will follow in the K of P and IOOF Cemetery in Frankton.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Baptist Church of Anderson.
